    1)they are targets for vandalism
2)they are centres for extortion by bullies.
3)children will feel the need to spend more money.
    hope thats enough.

  2. libin Says:

waste of money and not good

  3. Redd Hott Says:

not necesseraly…da vendin machines in my school only sell healthy food and it doesnt sell soda…just juice n gatorade
    no candy jst wheat food

  4. g2thakiz Says:

Mainly, the snacks and drinks found in vending machines are high-fat (especially trans-fat), high-calorie and high-sugar. Kids choose these snacks over healthy ones, not only because they taste better, but because they are readily available. Combine this with the lack of exercise that kids get these days, and you have a major contributor to obesity, diabetes and poor eating habits.

  5. Donna Says:

my daughter is a diabetic. She is 17 and thinks that she is invincible. Her blood sugar has been out of control since she started high school because of these machines. She has access to food and drinks that are high in carbs. She knows the dangers but wants to fit in with her friends. She wants to be “normal” she says..

  6. ~.Leah.~ Says:

a lot of the time vending machines tend to offer unhealthy items to buy such as candy, chips, soda, etc.

  7. Jessica B Says:

Well that is if you are talking about the food vending machines…..the ones that we have at our schools….include dasani flavored waters too. which that isnt all that bad…….Its the persons choice if they want to get fat…they dont HAVE to put their money in the machine..

  8. anthony r Says:

Schools have to pay the vendors to come stock the machine and maintain it.

  9. jujuchic Says:

At an early age, people will get addicted to junk food and start getting used to consumerism. I recently moved from the U.S. to Europe and I have noticed people over here are less “consumer crazy”. People buy only what they need and spoil themselves only on special occassions, but in the states, its Buy! Buy! Buy!

  10. wut!? Says:

    too expensive

  11. mwa Says:

They are appealing to instant gratification… you see it, you want it NOW. It is its own advertising for high sugar and calorie foods that are unhealthy junk

  12. 12 Says:

Kids today are faced with too many choices. Snack bars at school, vending machines.
It empowers them and gives them the same thought-processes that make them think it’s okay for them to go to school with guns and kill their classmates because they are upset.
There. That ought to make a strong argument.

  13. Josh T Says:

they occasionally eat a quarter and won’t give it back.

  14. Ronald M Says:

I think its absurd, When I was in School we didn’t have them. What is wrong with our Public school system nowadays ? Our kids are uneducated the schools are violent the teachers only care about the Teachers Union.

  15. Gingi P Says:

As long as the school vends helathy things there’s nothing really negative about them, and most schools only vend water and healthy things because of the obesity rate in america

  16. Devil Bob Says:

In 1997 I succeeded in putting vending machines in schools, it’s part of my evil plan to make kids fat. Hi, my name is Bob and I’m the devil.

  17. Angelina N Says:

Besides obesity they do not promote healthy eating. There isn’t anything healthy about vending machine food. They are typically for lazy people who do not pack their lunches. They contribute to diabetes because most of the foods in the vending machine are refined carbs/sugars from cookies and crackers. They also offer gum and sweet snacks which are typically not good for the body.

  18. FREDDY Says:

money gets jammed all the time…just my luck!

  19. Gringa_u Says:

alot of times children spend their lunch money on this junk food,, instead of getting a nourishing , healthy meal.
also this food can be expensive

  20. Someone Says:

Kids steal loose change around the house from their parents to satisfy their sweet tooth.

  21. 2LegsMal Says:

Not all kids have enough money to buy stuff out them.
Sandwiches with the bread all hard.
Bags of crisps not vending correctly and sticking in machine.
Condoms shouldn’t really be a school thing.
King-size Mars are not the size of a King.

  22. triccy_b Says:

Well it is mainly unhealthy food and drinks!

  23. Al Rozz Says:

Vending machines in School that have drinks and food is a thumbs up.
Snack machine is a plus too.
If were talking College Schoolo here yea.
If were talking High School here…NO WAY!

  24. lurk_dig Says:

Waste of money. Crap food. Questionable consumer targeting encouraging kids to waste their money on crap food.

  25. Lonely Spartan Soulja Says:

    rip off

  26. hot_rica Says:

    (For Soda pop machines)
You know, I dont know what the big fuss is? as long as it’s
high school, they should be allowed! its pop, and their old enough to drink it. And most of all they are paying for it!
Now, if its put into a grammer school, then the only negative thing that I can think of is, that it may make some kids jittery!
and as far as making people obese, I dont agree! I see a bunch of skinny people downing pop all the time. It all depends on what the person eats, and how much excersise that person gets. Soceity needs to stop using “Coca-cola” as their excuse for why they are fat. Believe me, its lots of other factors.
Well, good luck on ur project, I wish I could have helped u more on the negative things about vending machines in schools, but I dont see it as being soo bad.
However, if ur talking about the “snack vending machines” then, the only downfall, is that its exspensive!
