Can You Explain To Me Why You Think Vending Machines ( Pop, Snack) Are A Waste Of Money?

When there is nothing else around the convenience is worth it.
It’s my own fault if I didn’t bring anything with me.

impulse buying. you don’t NEED anything from a vending machine. Maybe the occasional bottle of water, but that’s it.

Personally, I think they are a waste of my money because the items that are in the vending machine are jam packed with perservatives, high calories and a lot of fat. The last couple times I got something out of the vending machine at work, the items were expired! So obviously, I would consider that a waste of money. Not to mention all the times your change gets eaten by the machine. I would consider that a jack.

The biggest reason would be the fact that for the high price, the quality of food is extremely low.

Vending machines usually charge higher prices than most places to purchase snacks. A can of pop can be bought at the grocery store for 25 cents or so (or less!), when it can be 50 cents to one dollar in a vending machine. Small bags of chips and cookies are expensive for the amount you get, you can get a much better value in an actual store. But with vending machines, you pay for convenience. If you are walking through campus between classes or you are on your lunch break at work and you need a snack, you certainly aren’t going to jump in your car and drive to the grocery store and buy a big bag of chips or box of cookies or 12 cans of soda. Convenience is totally worth it in a lot of situations. It’s just a good idea to keep in mind that when you do have options, it isn’t the cheapest or healthiest way to eat on a regular basis.

It’s paying top-dollar for old food that’s been sitting there in a while just to add that high-fat high sugar food right to your belly.

The bags are full of air and the product is full of fat. There’s nothing nutritious in a vending machine; so they’re a total waste of money. And all you’re doing is paying top dollar to cover the electricity bill to run the machine.

sorry to say it is not a waste of money if you are hungry and thirsty and there is nothing else around; by choice i would not buy from a vending machine but sometimes you have to; it also depends what you buy… soda and snacks are fine.. but sandwiches, no way – you dont know when they were made; i have seen and bought from ice cream machines and once bought a camera from a kodak machine that sold film and quick cameras… vending machines are good for certain things in certain places….

Because you can buy the same products cheaper at a supermarket.
