Average Income Of School Vending Machines?

I am trying to get more healthy food vending machines in my school. What I would like to know is how much do snack vending machines make on an average day? They would be placed in the student center (cafeteria).
Thank you! =^_^=

I honestly don’t know how much they would make…. but I think your idea is great. At my highschool they purchased a milk machine and it was ALWAYS out of milk- we kept drinking it all! It was a nice change to see milk on the desks instead of pepsi products. So unlike the other poster, I think it will still be profitable.
So anyways, to answer your question… Lets assume that everything in your healthy vending machine cost $1 and it can hold 200 items (I tried finding a site that gave an estimate of how much they can hold but I couldn’t, so thats mine! :)
So that means you can make $200 (but don’t forget buying the healthy snacks and the actual cost of the machine)
But thats $200 a what? month? day? year? Lets assume that your school has 2000 students. And 50% of them purchase 1 item a day. Thats a $1000 a day.
If I were you- I would find out the additional costs having a machine costs. Best way to find out? Talk to whoever is in charge of the candy vending machines. How often do they have to restock? Whats their profit.. etc.
    Hope that helps!

It’s really going to vary quite a bit depending on
    1. the number of machines
    2. the price charged per item
    3. the size of the school
    4. the percentage of students who eat food from the machines
    5. the types of snacks you put in them and the profit margin on each snack.
It’s true that the healthier foods probably do cost more, but I think that there are people who would be willing to pay more to have better quality snacks.
